ELDON LEROY THORMAN died July 7, 2009 in Manhattan Kansas, Manhattan, KS at
the age of 87. ELDON LEROY THORMAN was born on March 8, 1922 in Green KS, the son
of Lee and Berthilda Thorman.
Eldon attended Pleasant Hill school and graduated from Clay Center High School. He
was a farmer, real estate broker and hotel owner. He owned and operated hotels in Clay Center,
Emporia, Topeka, Eldorado, Newton and Greensburg all in Kansas. Eldon married Erma Schrum
on April 17, 1941. She preceded him in death on November 22, 2000. He then married Viola
Lund on July 22, 2002. Eldon was a member of the clay Center United Methodist Church,
Regent at Oral Roberts University, governor for Best Western Motels, Kansas Farm Bureau
Manager and Rotary International. He is preceded by a son, Gail and a brother, Kenneth.

Daughter: Eileen and husband Ronald Wright, Emporia, KS
Step-Son: Gale and wife Doris Lund, Clay Center, KS
Sister: Madonna Reed, Clifton, KS
Grandchildren: 5 Grand and 3 great-grand
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, July 10, 2009 at at the United Methodist Church in Clay
Center, Kansas.
Officiating the service will be Rev. Larry Myers.
Burial will be at the Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center, Kansas at 12:30pm.
Visitation will be held on 3-8 PM Thursday at the funeral home
