Elmer Ohlde

ELMER OHLDE died August 17, 2009 at Linn Community Nursing Home, Linn, KS at the age of 91. He was born on March 27, 1918 in Palmer Kansas, the son of Emil and Emma (Meyer) Ohlde. He was raised in the Palmer Community. He served in the US Army during WWII. Elmer married Mabel Weimers on May 26, 1944. They farmed in the Palmer Community. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, rural Palmer. Mabel preceded him in death on December 10, 2007. He is also preceded by a sister, Edna Wiemers. Survivors include: Son: Doug and wife Paula Ohlde, Overland Park, KS Sister: Dorothy Parry, Morganville, KS Sister: Florence Meyer, Lenexa, KS Grandchildren: 3 Grand & 2 Great-grand Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2009 at 10:00 AM at the St. John Lutheran Church in Palmer, Kansas. Officiating the service will be Pastor David Gruoner. Burial will be at the St. John Cemetery, Palmer, Kansas. Visitation will be held on 6-8 PM Friday at the church Memorials can be made to St. John Lutheran Church or the organization of the donor's choice c/o the funeral home
