EMMA MARIE EVANS died February 27, 2008 at Clay County Medical Center, Clay Center, KS at the age of 87. EMMA MARIE EVANS was born on September 12, 1920 in Clay County Kansas, the daughter of Carl Siihsmuth and Florence Clark.
Emma grew up in the Hayes Community and attended Woods Grade School. She married Lewis "Pete" Evans on February 12, 1947 and he preceded her on April 13, 1987. After moving off the farm in 1967 she began working at the Lincoln Grade School lunchroom until she retired in 1985. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and Hayes United Methodist Church. She is also preceded by one sister, Anna Barckley and one brother Carl Siihsmuth, Jr.

Grandson: Jared and wife Jennifer Evans, Valley Center, KS
Granddaughter: Bethany and husband Jeremy Samson, Wakeeney, KS
Granddaughter: Emily Braxmeyer, Goodland, KS
Sister: Viola and husband Bill Billinger, Wilson, KS
Grandchildren: 5 Great Grandchildren
Graveside Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2008 at 1:00 PM at the Greenwood Cemetery in Clay Center, Kansas.
Officiating the service will be Rev. Gerald Martin.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 29 from 3-8pm at the funeral home.
