Esther Riechers Thompson

ESTHER RIECHERS THOMPSON died August 18, 2013 at Mercy Regional Health Center, Manhattan, KS at the age of 87. She was born on July 12, 1926 in Barnes, Kansas the daughter of Carl and Christine (Stigge) Rodick. Esther was raised in the Barnes, KS area. She married Ernest Riechers on December 29, 1948 and they made their home in Green, KS. He preceded her in death on April 2, 1969. She moved to Manhattan in 1989. Esther married Marvin Thompson on December 31, 1989. He preceded her in death on March 14, 2008. Esther was a member of St Luke's Lutheran Church in Manhattan. She is also preceded in death by 2 brothers and 2 sisters. Survivors include: Son: Reggie and wife Patty Riechers, Manhattan, KS Step-Daughter: Connie and husband Nemecio Visicacion, Ada, OK Step-Son: Mark and wife Joni Thompson, AZ Step-Son: Keith and wife Becky Thompson, San Antonio, TX Sister: Arleen and husband Harold Hartner, Clay Center, KS Sister: Juanita and husband Allen Cassidy, Denver, CO Brother: Norman Rodick, Wichita, KS Brother: Lawrence Rodick, Wichita, KS Grandchildren: several step-grandchildren Funeral Services will be held on Friday, August 23, 2013 at 10:30 AM at the Neill-Schwensen-Rook Chapel in Clay Center, Kansas. Officiating the service will be Pastor Mike Schmidt. Burial will be at the Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center, Kansas. Visitation will be held on 3-8 PM Thursday at the funeral home Memorials can be made to St. Lukes Lutheran Church c/o the funeral home
