EUGENE MOREHEAD, 90 died January 25, 2016 at his daughter's residence in Salina, KS. He was born on November 15, 1925 in Republic, KS. The son of Murlin and Mildred (Mitchell) Morehead. Eugene (Gene) was born on the farm in Republic, Ks to Murlin Joseph and Mildred Agnes (Mitchell) Morehead on November 15, 1925. He was the first born of five children. Gene was raised in the Belleville-Republic-Scandia area and graduated from Scandia High School. He was the last remaining class member of 1942. He is preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Shirley Arlene (Robbins), his second wife, Eula Jean (Young), his third wife, Erma Lee (Thompson-Manning), his daughter, Brenda Joyce, his brother, Marvin Kay Morehead, his sister and brother-in-law, Ruth Marilyn and Hugh Elyea. Survivors: Melvina (Jack) Cutright, Gainesville, FL, Marcia (George) McLaughlin, Salina, Ronald (Cindy) Morehead, Topeka, Douglas (Laryssa) Morehead, Lakewood, WA Step-children: Glenn Manning, Clay Center, Dennis Manning, Winfield, Peggy Manning, Greenleaf, Mike (Gay Lynn) Manning, Washington, Edna (Tim) Highberger, Hooker, OK and Nancy (Larry) Basel, Solomon. His brothers George (Amy) Morehead, Belleville and Junior (Gloria) Morehead, Lincoln, NE Sisters-in-law: Doris Young Dunn, Clay Center, Beverly Robbins Benevides, Richmond, IN, Carla Robbins Ellacott, British Columbia, Betty Miller, Concordia, Carol Beatty, Loveland, CO, Brother-in law: Gerald Atkinson, Abilene Several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2016 at 1:00 PM at the Christian Church in Washington, KS Officiating the service will be Rev. Jim Stark Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center, KS Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2016 from 11 until service time at the church In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Washington Christian Church, 16 C Street, Washington, KS 66968 for youth activities.
