Evelyn King

EVELYN I. KING died March 22, 2013 at Presbyterian Manor, Clay Center, KS at the age of 90. She was born on January 16, 1923 in Clay County Kansas, the daughter of Mose Bertrand and Elsie Long. Evelyn was raised in Clay County and graduated from CCCHS. She taught in rural schools before her marriage. Evelyn married Robert King on September 26, 1942. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church where she served as an elder. Evelyn also volunteered for the American Cancer Society. She is precedede in death by her husband, 2 brothers and 3 sisters. Survivors include: Son: Rodney and wife Linda King, Gilbert , AZ Son: Greg and wife Dorrene King, Clay Center, KS Daughter: Monisa King-Gibbs, Topeka, KS Daughter: Daree and husband Lemuel James, Clay Center, KS Brother: Lafe Bertrand, Clay Center, KS 11 Grandchildren & 18 Great-grandchildren Funeral Services will be held on Friday, March 29, 2013 at 10:00 AM at the Neill-Schwensen-Rook Chapel in Clay Center, Kansas. Officiating the service will be Rev. James Byers. Burial will be at the Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center, Kansas. Visitation will be held on 3-8 PM Thursday at the funeral home Memorials can be made to First Presbyterian Church or the Presbyterian Manor c/o the funeral home
