Fay Wirt

HELEN FAY WIRT, 95 died January 29, 2014 at Presbyterian Manor in Clay Center, KS. She was born on April 20, 1918 in Wheaton, KS. The daughter of Louis and Esther (Force) Henneberg. Fay was raised in Wheaton, KS. She graduated from Wheaton High School and Clark Secretarial School in Topeka. Fay married Milton R. Wirt on September 24,1939. In 1947, they moved to Miltonvale,KS where they worked at the Wesleyan College for 19 years. In 1966 the couple bought the Farmers Insurance Agency in Clay Center and moved to that city. Milton preceded her in death on January 12, 2004. Fay was a member of the Clay Center Wesleyan Church. She enjoyed teaching adults and high school students in Sunday School along with volunteering on work trips to third world countries. She was a past member in the Business and Professional Women's Group, Wesleyan Women, South Hayes H.E.U. and the Garden Club. She is preceded in death by her husband, two sisters, Frances Welch and Mary Smith, and a brother, Dean Henneberg. Survivors: Daughter: Alice and husband Wayne Huff, Duncanville, TX Son: Richard and wife Lynda Wirt, Austin, TX Son: Clayburn and wife Elizabeth Wirt, Murrells Inlet, SC 7 Grandchildren, 6 Great-grandchildren, 3 Step-grandchildren and 4 Step-Great-grandchildren Brother: Milton Henneberg, Wheaton, KS Sister: Vera Marten, Wheaton, KS Sister: Eva Brunkow, Topeka, KS Brother in law; George Welch Sister in law; Marjorie Henneberg Funeral Services will be held on Friday, February 14, 2014 at 10:00AM at the Clay Center Wesleyan Church. Officiating the service will be Pastor Rob Stewart A committal service will be held at 2:00PM at the Mt. Hope Cemetery Chapel in Topeka. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 13, 2014 from 4-8PM at the funeral home. The family will greet friends from 6-8PM. Memorials: may be made to the Clay Center Wesleyan Church or the Clay Center Presbyterian Manor and can be sent in care of the funeral home.
