FERN ADDILENE WALKER died April 20, 2008 at Clay County Medical Center, Clay Center, KS at the age of 104. She was born on December 18, 1903 in Norway, Kansas the daughter of William Dunlap and Leni Scott. She moved to Clay Center when she was 8 years old. She graduated from Clay Center High School in 1923. Fern taught school, worked in a local meat shop and the welfare department. She married Elmo Walker on June 9, 1942 in Clay Center. She helped Elmo at Walker Plumbing from 1945 until 1963. She operated Clay Center Booster Club from 1966 to 1998. She served in the Clay County Election Board for 70 years. Elmo precededher in death on November 18, 1974. She was a member of St. Pauls Episcopal Church, American Legion Aux., VFW Aux. and OES. She is also preceded by 4 brothers. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, April 29, 2008 at 2:00 PM at the St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Clay Center, Kansas. Officiating the service will be The Rev. Susan Sawyer and Dr. Frank Holtz. Burial will be at the Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center, Kansas. Visitation will be held on 3-8 PM Monday at the funeral home Memorials can be made to St. Pauls Episcopal Church or Clay Center Zoo c/o the funeral home
