FIRMIN R. ESSLINGER died September 10, 2010 at Via Christi Village, Manhattan, KS
at the age of 101. Firmin was born on June 26, 1909 in Clifton, Kansas the son of Joseph and
Barbara (Wurtz) Esslinger.
He was raised in Clifton and graduated from Clifton High School in 1927. Firmin
married Lucy Leiszler in 1931 in Clifton. They made their home in Clifton before moving to
Clay Center in 1962. They moved to Manhattan for a short time before returning to Clay Center.
Firmin operated a Chevrolet dealership and sold Zenith appliances. Lucy preceded him in death
in 1995. He was a member of SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Clay Center, and served on
the Clifton School Board and Clifton Fire Department. He is also preceded by a sister, 3 brothers
and a grandson.

Daughter: Donna and her husband, Don Loomis, Littleton, CO
Son: Dennis and his wife, Carol Esslinger, Santa Ana, CA
Son: Dean and his wife, Sandra Hanson Esslinger, Baltimore, MD
11 Grandchildren, 18 Great-grandchildren & 1 Great-great-grandchild
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, September 16, 2010 at 10:30 AM at the SS. Peter and
Paul Catholic Church in Clay Center, Kansas .
Officiating the service will be The Rev. Larry Grennan and The Rev. Loren Werth.
Burial will be at the Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center, Kansas.
Visitation will be held on will be held from 3-8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. The Rosary
will be recited at 8PM.

funeral home.
