FRANCIS PAUL MATTINGLY died February 21, 2010 at Presbyterian Manor, Clay
Center, KS at the age of 77. He was born on April 8, 1932 in Clay County, KS the son of Gerald
and Loma (Canfield) Mattingly. Francis was raised in Clay Center. He graduated from Clay
County Community High School and attended Kansas State University. He served in the US Air
Force. Francis married Joan Spencer on August 13, 1955, she survives of the home. He owned
and operated Mattingly Motors with his father until 1982. He then worked for Skinner Motors for
two years before establishing Clay Center Motors, retiring in 1997. He was a member of SS
Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Presbyterian Manor board and BPOE. He
is preceded in death by his parents.

Daughter: Karen and husband Marlon Bergin, Olathe, KS
Daughter: Kim and husband Kirk Rees, Paola, KS
Daughter: Kathy and husband Bob Stevens, Manhattan, KS
Brother: Earl Mattingly, Liberal, KS
Grandchildren: 4 Grand and 1 Great-grand
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at 10:00am at the SS. Peter and Paul Catholic
Church in Clay Center, Kansas .
Officiating the service will be The Rev. Merlin Kieffer.
Burial will be at the Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center, Kansas.
Visitation will be held on 3-7 PM Tuesday at SS peter and Paul Catholic Church with rosary at 7
