Fred Griffiths

Fred Griffiths, Jr. died May 17, 2008 at Clay County Medical Center, Clay Center, KS at the age of 84. Fred was born on June 25, 1923 in Clay County, Kasnas the son of Fred Griffiths, Sr. and Lola Kemp. He graduated from CCCHS and attended Kansas State University. He married Mayalwilda Knapp on March 23, 1947. She survives of the home. He farmed in Clay County. He was a member of the Morganville United Methodist Church, former president of the Morganville COOP board, Masonic Lodge and Isis Shrine and a Worthy Patron in the Order of the Eastern Star. Survivors include: Wife: Mayalwilda Griffiths, Clay Center, KS Daughter: Phoebe and husband Wally Pitney, Axtell, KS Sister: Imogene Kamphaus, Clay Center, KS Grandchildren: 2 Granddaughters 5 Greatgrandchildren Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, May 22, 2008 at 11:00 AM at the Morganville United Methodist Church in Morganville, Kansas. Officiating the service will be Pastor Gale Lund. Burial will be at the Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center, Kansas. Visitation will be held on 3-8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Fred Griffiths Memorial Fund to be designated later in care of the funeral home.
