Freddie Cyr

Fred Cyr 82 was born in Miltonvale, KS on February 16,1944. He grew up in Miltonvale and graduated from Miltonvale High School in 1962. He then worked various jobs before he enlisted in the United States Navy, serving from 1964-1968. Fred worked in aviation as a hydraulics mechanic. He loved serving his country and often shared stories of his experiences.

After returning from Vietnam, he married his true love Constance Sue (Connie Blake) Grosnick on July 11, 1968. He became a stepfather to Roland Marc Grosnick, whom he loved as his own. In 1970, daughter, Shannon Leigh (Cyr) Kalivoda was born to round out their family. Fred (Fast Freddie) worked as the Javco gas station manager for 26 years. He then delivered RV campers across the country, finally retiring in 2024, at 80 years old.

Fred loved his family dearly, and taught his children the value of a dollar, that hard work does pay off, and taking time to enjoy life was imperative. He loved talking to people. He didn't know a stranger no matter where he was and always found a connection with someone. Fred enjoyed hunting and fishing and enjoyed hearing about such adventures through his grandsons when he was unable to participate. He also enjoyed watching them in their activities. Fred was a doting father and grandfather and was excited to finally have granddaughters join the family. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, two brothers, Virgil and Delbert Cyr and a sister, Veda Murphy. Fred was truly "one of a kind” and will be missed deeply.

Daughter: Shannon and husband Greg Kalivoda

Grandsons: William Kalivoda, Garett and wife Braylin Kalivoda, Hayden Kalivoda, Mason Grosnick, and fiancé Leah Hildreth
