Gail Bauer

GAIL BAUER, 92 died December 16, 2013 at Medicalodge in Clay Center, KS. He was born on October 7, 1921 in Clay County, KS. The son of Ernest and Pera (Nemnich) Bauer. Gail was raised in the Broughton community and graduated from CCCHS. He married Mina Oetinger on October 24, 1943. They farmed in the Broughton area before moving to Fairbury, NE in 1964. They returned to Clay Center in 1967. Gail worked for Gilmore-Tatge for 17 years before he retired and returned to farming. Mina preceded him in death on April 13, 1994. He later married Dorothy (LeClair) Friesen on March 8, 1997. He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Kiwanis Club and Lions Club, all of Clay Center and the Kansas Flying Farmers. He is preceded in death by 1 sister. Survivors: Wife: Dorothy Bauer, Clay Center, KS Son: Bruce and wife Faun Bauer, Clay Center, KS Son: Brian Bauer, Clay Center, KS Daughter: Diana and husband Bob Williams, Manhattan, KS Daughter: Pera and husband Tom Rockefeller, Spokane, WA Brother: Wade Bauer, Clay Center, KS Brother: Robert Bauer, Wichita, KS Brother: Wynn Bauer, Clay Center, KS Brother: Lafe Bauer, Mission, KS Sister: Pera Beth Eichelberger, Denver, CO 16 Grandchildren, 6 Step- Grandchildren, 11 Great- Grandchildren Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, December 21, 2013 at 10:30 AM at the Clay Center United Methodist Church in Clay Center, KS Officiating the service will be Pastor Ryan Lynch Burial will be in the Broughton Cemetery, Clay County, KS Visitation will be held on Friday, December 20, 2013 from 3-8PM. the family will greet friends from 4-6PM at Neill-Schwensen-Rook Funeral Home In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to the Clay Center United Methodist Church or the Clay Center Utility Park and Zoo c/o the funeral home
