GAILEN BRADEN died February 15, 2008 at St. Joseph Village, Manhattan, KS at the age of 80. He was born on August 11, 1927 in Ogden, KS the Son of James Wesley Braden and Olive May Reed. He graduated from Wakefield High School. He served in the US Navy during WWII. Following the war, he farmed in the the Wakefield area. He married Dixie Chapman on December 24, 1949. He worked as the Postmaster for Wakefield from 1957 until he retired in 1986. He was a member of the Wakefield United Methodist Church, V.F.W., American Legion and charter member of the BPOE in Clay Center. He is preceded in death by 1 brother.

Son: Rick and wife Doretta Braden, Topeka, KS
Grandchildren: 6 Grandchildren and 2 Great-grandchildren
Memorial Services will be held on Wednesday, February 20, 2008 at 10:30 AM at the United Methodist Church in Wakefield, Kansas.
Officiating the service will be Rev. Diana Stewart.
Burial will be at the Highland Cemetery, Topeka, KS.
Visitation will be held on 6-8 PM at the Wakefield Funeral Home
