Gaylord Rice

GAYLORD L. RICE died July 18, 2009 at Salina Regional Health Center, Salina, KS at the age of 63. He was born on June 7, 1946 in Gardner, Kansas the son of Clifford E. and Marcellia N. (Erskine) Rice. He was raised in Paola, Kansas. He received a B.S. degree in Nuclear Engineering form Kansas State University in 1969. He married Berneice Simpson on September 12, 1970 and she survives of the home. He was a systems analyist for AT&T for 30 years. He is preceded by his parents and one sister. Survivors include: Wife: Berneice Rice, Salina, KS Son: Eric Rice, Lakewood, CO Daughter: Tricia and husband James Wright, Overland Park, KS Brother: Howard Rice, Weaverville, NC Brother: Robert Rice, Little Rock, AR Sister: Dorothy King, Topeka, KS Sister: Karen Oram, Overland Park, KS Grandchildren: 3 grandchildren Mother in Law: Leah Simpson, Salina, KS Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, July 23, 2009 at 11:00 AM at the Miltonvale Cemetery in Miltonvale, Kansas. Officiating the service will be Pastor Todd Hurst. Burial will be at the Miltonvale Cemetery, Miltonvale, Kansas. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 22nd from 4:00 to 8:00pm at the Phelps Funeral Home Memorials can be made to Inner Varsity Christian Fellowship c/o the funeral home
