Gene Martin

GENE F MARTIN, 86 died May 5, 2015 at Meadowlark Hills in Manhattan, KS. He was born on September 2, 1928 in Clay Center, KS the son of A. Harold and Miriam (Tannehill) Martin. Gene was raised in Union township. He attended Hannibal country school and graduated from CCCHS in 1946. Gene married Marilyn Heikes on September 5, 1948. They made their home and farmed I Union township. Gene was a member of the Wesleyan Church, served on the Farmers Union CO-OP board,the local Gideons chapter and worked on National and International mission trips. He is preceded in death by parents, son, Douglas Martin and daughter in law, Jeanne Martin Survivors: Wife: Marilyn Martin, Clay Center, KS Son: Phil Martin, Clay Center, KS Daughter: Marita and husband Brett Wolgast, Cedar Rapids, IA Daughter in Law: Deb Martin, Clay Center, KS Brother: Gerald and wife Luella Martin, Wichita, KS Sister: JoAnn and husband Wynn Bauer, Clay Center, KS 10 Grandchildren and 6 Great-grandchildren Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2015 at 2:00 PM at the Wesleyan Church in Clay Center, KS Officiating the service will be Pastor Rob Stewart Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center, KS Visitation will be held on Friday, May 8, 2015 from 3-8 PM at Neill-Schwensen-Rook Funeral Home Memorials: Gideon's International, Meadowlark Hospice or the church c/o the funeral home
