George Jensen

George L. Jensen, age 86, died on August 14, 2026 at the Wakefield Care and Rehab in Wakefield, Kansas. He was born in Waterville, Kansas on March 11, 1940, to Eli and Helen (Mapes) Jensen. George spent his younger years in the Blue Rapids area. His family then moved to Clay Center where he finished high school. George married Neva Summers in the early 60’s. To this union three children were born. George worked for Hutchinson Maywrath as a forklift operator for several years. He then began delivering goods for many different businesses. George loved to fish, go hunting and play bingo.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Wayne; sister, Betty and brother-in-law Carmen.

George is survived by his wife, Neva of Wakefield; sons, Jonathan (Eva) Jensen of Topeka, Mark (Amy) Jensen of Odgen, and Brent Jensen of Manhattan, siblings; Darrell (Beverly) Jensen, Norma Jensen and Steve Jensen, grandchildren; Jonathan Jr. (Allison) Jensen, Mikayla (Adam) Weaver, Brandon Jensen, Michael Jensen, Isaiah Jensen, Kristi Pittman, Chelsea (Abe) Taylor and William (Sabrina) Lorson; great grandchildren; Kylie Jensen, Lola and Grant Hilscher, Hunter and Oliver Taylor, and Kameron, Khloe, Liam, and Landon Lorson, and one great-great grandchild; Casen Jensen.

A celebration of life will take place at 10:00 AM on Monday, August 24, 2026, at the Neill-Schwensen-Rook Funeral Home, Clay Center, Kansas
