George Novak

GEORGE NOVAK died October 2, 2013 at Clay County Medical Center, Clay Center, KS at the age of 90. George was born on October 6, 1922 in Clay Center Kansas, the son of Adolph and Bertha (Klabzula) Novak. George served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He married Iva Mansfield on June 5, 1949 and she preceded him in death on July 17, 1975. He then married Verona Kahrs on November 7, 1976 and she preceded him in death on June 16, 2001. George worked for KDOT for 33 years as a maintainer operator. He then worked for Ron's Plumbing until 2006. He was also preceded in death by 3 brothers and 2 sisters. George was a member of the Clay Center Christian Church. Survivors include: Sister: Rose Marie Burt, Clay Center, KS Brother: Charles and wife, Evelyn Novak, Clay Center, KS Many step grandchildren and step great grandchildren Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2013 at 10:00 AM at the Clay Center Christian Church in Clay Center, Kansas. Officiating the service will be Pastor John Grogg. Burial will be at the Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center, Kansas. Visitation will be held from 3-8 PM Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Clay Center Christian Church and can be sent in care of the funeral home.
