GEORGE R. OSBORN died January 31, 2009 at Salina Regional Health Center, Salina, KS at the age of 71. He was born on April 6, 1937 in Clifton KS, the son of Vernon Osborn and Leta Jackson. He attended elementary school in Omaha, NE and graduated from Clifton High School. George worked on road construction and as a welder for Gilmore-Tatge before joining the US Army. Following his service, he worked for Frigon Gun Shop and was employed in Law Enforcement. He owned and operated Sundown Kennels for 25 years. He married Carol Short and they later divorced. He then married Sylvia Stites in December 1973 in Manhattan, KS. George was a member of Ducks Unlimited. He is preceded in death by his mother and a sister, Ramona Geisler.

Sister: Marjorie and husband Bill Shea, Manhattan, KS
Sister: Martha and husband Gary Woodbury, Jacksonville, FL
Grandchildren: 5 Step-grandchildren
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, February 4, 2009 at 10:30 AM at the Neill-Schwensen-Rook Chapel in Clay Center, Kansas.
Officiating the service will be Pastor Bill Shea.
Burial will be at the Pleasant View Cemetery, Vining, Kansas.
Visitation will be held on 3-8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home
