GERALD “PUTT” LEE CARLSON died September 1, 2011 at Stormont-Vail Regional Medical Center, Topeka, KS at the age of 78. He was born on October 15, 1932 in Plainville, KS the son of Victor and Kate (Fitzgarrald) Carlson. Gerald married Glenda Tomlinson on October 22, 1954 and she survives of the home. He worked for 34 years as a truck driver for various companies including Gilmore-Tatge of Clay Center. He was a member of the St Paul Episcopal Church, Army National Guard and the NRA. Gerald enjoyed playing his guitar and working out at the Mark A. Chapman Wellness Center. He is preceded by a son, Bill, and two sisters. Survivors include: Wife: Glenda Carlson, Clay Center, KS Son: Jim and wife Lori Carlson, Clay Center, KS Memorial Services will be held on Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at 1:00 PM at the St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Clay Center, Kansas . Officiating the service will be The Rev. Susan Sawyer. Inurnment will be at the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Clay Center, Kansas. Memorials can be made to Clay County Hospital Foundation or the Mark A. Chapman Wellness Center c/o the funeral home.
