GERALDINE (JERRY) M. HAMMOND died April 21, 2010 at Clay County Medical Center, Clay Center, KS at the age of 89. GERALDINE (JERRY) M. HAMMOND was born on January 15, 1921 in Ogden, Kansas the daughter of Leonard Sanders and Gertrude Dugan. She was raised in the Wabaunsee County area. She graduated from Wakefield High School in 1940. She married Ralph Hammond on May 11, 1940 and he preceded her on December 2, 2005. They farmed on the family farm near Wakefield for 46 years. They moved to Clay Center in 1986. She was a member of the Mizpah United Methodist Church, United Methodist Woman, Leisure Center, Sunshine Club and active in the PTA, serving as president. She is also preceded by 2 sisters and 2 brothers. Survivors include: Son: Dale and wife Deanna Hammond, Clay Center, KS Son: Merle and wife Jolene Hammond, Clay Center, KS Son: Robert and wife Susan Hammond, Clay Center, KS Daughter: Diane and husband Gary Carlson, Clay Center, KS Daughter: Shelly and husband Michael Miller, Wakefield, KS Brother: Floyd Sanders, CO Sister: Marie Klein, Denver, CO Sister: JoAnn Davis, GA Grandchildren: 11 Grandchildren and 20 Great Grandchildren Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, April 24, 2010 at 10:00 AM at the Mizpah United Methodist Church in Clay County, Kansas. Officiating the service will be Pastor Larry Brock. Burial will be at the Highland Cemetery, Wakefield, Kansas. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 23 from 3-8 pm at the funeral home.
