Geraldine Koerner

GERALDINE KOERNER died July 4, 2013 at Clay County Medical Center, Clay Center, KS at the age of 94. She was born on February 2, 1919 in Waldo, KS the daughter of Arthur and Lona (Stiverson) Case. Geraldine was raised in the Ladysmith Community and attended 4 Mile country school. She married Irvine Koerner on October 21, 1935. Geraldine worked as a welder in Hutchinson and Wichita during WWII. She owned and operated a restaurant in Milford and farmed with her husband near Wakefield. Irvine preceded her in death on November 1, 1992. Geraldine moved to Clay Center in 1993. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Wakefield and later in Clay Center, Rebecca's and the Gnat Batters Camping Club. She is also preceded in death by 4 brothers. Survivors include: Daughter: Bonnie and husband Richard Steppe, Wakefield, KS Daughter: Donna Colp, Clay Center, KS Grandchildren: 10 Grand, 27 Great-grand and 26 Great-Great-Grand Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at 10:30 AM at the Wakefield Chapel in Wakefield, Kansas. Officiating the service will be Pastor Scott Campbell. Burial will be at the Highland Cemetery, Wakefield, Kansas. Visitation will be held on 3-8 PM Monday at the Neill-Schwensen-Rook Funeral Home in Clay Center.
