Gladys L Heald

GLADYS LILLIE HEALD died July 15, 2009 at her residence near Towanda, KS at the age of 92. She was born on June 4, 1917 in Lamar, KS the daughter of Frank and Lillie (Willard) Shroyer. She was raised in Lamar, KS. She married Lawrence Heald on June 18, 1940 and he preceded her in death on June 23, 1989. She worked for J.M. McDonald's Clothing Store in Concordia and owned and operated G&H Sales in Concordia. She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church. She was also preceded in death by a son Ronald, two brothers, Everett and George Shroyer, and a sister, Lavina Stites. Survivors include: Son: Larry and wife Glenna Heald, Concordia, KS Daughter: Pamela Appleby, Manchester, MO Daughter: Patricia and husband Bob Broyles, Towanda, KS Sister: Doris Yowell, Delphos, KS 6 Grandchildren, 10 Great-Grandchildren, 1 Great-Great- Grandchildren Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2009 at 10:30 AM at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Concordia, Kansas. Officiating the service will be Pastor Dean Thompson. Burial will be at the Miltonvale Cemetery, Miltonvale, Kansas. Visitation will be held on 3-8 PM Friday at the Phelps Funeral Home. Memorials can be made to may be made to the Gladys Heald Memorial Fund to be designated later by the family.
