Gladys Riek

GLADYS MARIE RIEK died January 29, 2007 at Leonardville Nursing Home, Leonardville, KS at the age of 87. GLADYS MARIE RIEK was born on May 26, 1919 in Clay County, Kansas the daughter of Clarence and Nellie (Thompson) Hammel. She married Harold Riek on Deceber 6, 1941 and he preceded her on February 26, 1973. She was enjoyed painting and was given an award for her paintings from the Presbyterian Manor. She was a member of the Fact United Methodist Church and the Fact United Methodist Church Ladies Aid. She is also preceded by a Daughter-In-Law, Rose Riek. Survivors include: Son: Lawrence and wife Judy Riek, Clay Center, KS Son: Loren and wife Shirley Riek, Clay Center, KS Brother: Wayne Hammel, Clay Center, KS Grandchildren: 4 Grandchildren and 4 Great Grandchildren Funeral Services will be held on Friday, February 2, 2007 at 1:30 PM at the Neill-Schwensen-Rook Chapel in Clay Center, Kansas. Officiating the service will be Pastor Gale Lund. Burial will be at the Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center, Kansas. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 1 from 3-8pm at the funeral home. Memorials can be made to Clay County Hosptial Foundation or the Clay Center Presbyterian Manor Good Samaritan Fund.
