Gwen Williams

GWEN O. WILLIAMS died August 16, 2012 at Smoky Hill Rehabilitation Center , Salina, KS at the age of 95. She was born on January 11, 1917 in Longford Kansas, the daughter of Louis and Jewell (Clinton) Neaderhiser. Gwen grew up in Longford and graduated from Miltonvale High School in 1934. She attended Miltonvale Wesleyan College and Wichita Business College. Gwen married Bill Williams on June 23, 1940 and he preceded her in death on January 18, 1962. She worked as an office assistant for Twin Valley Telephone until 1982 and she was also an Avon representative. Gwen moved to Salina in 2005. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Betty Lou Sharp,1 great grandson and one great granddaughter. Gwen was active in the Miltonvale Christian Church and served as a Deaconess, was a Sunday School Teacher, member of CWF, and helped with VBS. Survivors include: Son: Clinton and wife, Pam Williams, Ellisnoe, MO Son: Bradley and wife, Lindsay Williams, Las Vegas, NV Daughter: Toni and husband, Marv Hamel, Salina, KS Grandchildren: 9 Granddaughters and 11 Great Grandchildren Memorial Services will be held on Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at 10:30 AM at the Miltonvale Christian Church in Miltonvale, Kansas. Officiating the service will be Pastor Scott Campbell and Pastor Larry Sullivan. Burial will be at the Miltonvale Cemetery, Miltonvale, Kansas. Visitation will be held on will be held from 9:30 AM until service time at the church on Tuesday. Memorials can be made to may be made to the Miltonvale Christian Church and sent in care of the funeral home.
