Harold Robert “Bob” Doberer died April 25, 2009 at Shawnee Mission Medical Center,
Merriam, KS at the age of 80. Bob was born on July 26, 1928 in Clay County, KS the son
of Warren and Elsie (Swenson) Doberer
Bob was raised in Garfield Township in Clay County. Bob graduated from CCCHS in
1947. He farmed until moving to Kansas City in 1959. Bob was married to Phyllis Stephens for
almost 45 years. He drove a truck for National Molasses Co. until his retirement in 1985. He
and Phyllis spent 7 years traveling the country full time by RV before returning to live in Clay
County. Bob was a member of the Truck Drivers Teamsters Local #41 and attended the First
Presbyterian Church in Clay Center. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son in-law,
Tony Murray.

Brother: Don and wife Nancy Jo Doberer, Clay Center, KS
13 Grandchildren & 21 Great-grandchildren
Memorial Services will be held on Wednesday, April 30, 2009 at 11:00 AM at the First
Presbyterian Church in Clay Center, Kansas.
Officiating the service will be Rev. James Byers.
Inurnment will be at the Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center, Kansas.
Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until service time on Wednesday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church in care of the funeral
home.
