Harold Keener

HAROLD N. KEENER died March 9, 2012 at Medicalodge, Clay Center, KS at the age of 99. He was born on August 22, 1912 in Rossville, Kansas the son of Newton and Bena (Martin) Keener. Harold was raised on a farm in the Wakefield, Kansas area. He married Doris Lloyd on July 31, 1935 and they lived and farmed in the Oak Hill and Longford area until moving to Clay Center in 1976. His wife preceded him in death on September 24, 1984 and he is also preceded by one sister and one brother. He was a former member of the 1st Presbyterian Church and a member of the United Methodist Church. Survivors include: Daughter: Loretta Miles, Clay Center, KS Son: Larry Keener, Clay Center, KS Grandchildren: 5 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, March 15, 2012 at 10:30 AM at the Neill-Schwensen-Rook Chapel in Clay Center, Kansas. Officiating the service will be Rev. Susan Sawyer. Burial will be at the Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center, Kansas. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 14th from 3:00 to 8:00 at the funeral home Memorials can be made to Harold Keener Memorial Fund, to be designated later by the family, c/o the funeral home
