Harry Affleck

HARRY AFFLECK died February 13, 2009 at Clay County Medical Center, Clay Center, KS at the age of 89. He was born on March 5, 1919 in Washington County, Kansas the son of John Affleck and Amy Balston. He was raised in Washington County. He married Irene Durling on April 26, 1940. Harry served in the US Marines during WWII. He worked for Northern Natural Gas for 20 years, he was an orchard worker in California for several years and did carpentry work.. Irene preceded him in death on February 12, 1989. Harry was a member of St Paul Lutheran Church in Clay Center and the American Legion in Clifton. Harry is also preceded by a daughter, Bonnie, 2 sisters, 1 brother, a grandson, 3 great-granddaughters and a great-grandson. Survivors include: Daughter: Shirley Bouley, Clifton, KS Daughter: Beverly Willcoxon, Abilene, KS Son: Jack Affleck, Sun City, CA Sister: Amy Affleck, Clifton, KS Grandchildren: 14 Grandchildren & 29 Great-grandchildren Funeral Services will be held on Monday, February 16, 2009 at 1:00 PM at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Clay Center, Kansas. Officiating the service will be Pastor Paul Tessaro. Burial will be at the Parallel Cemetery, Washington County, Kansas. Visitation will be held on 10:30 AM til noon, Monday at the funeral home Memorials can be made to Harry Affleck Memorial Fund to be designated later c/o the funeral home.
