HAZEL J. (GRAY) BEGNOCHE, 92 died March 10, 2016 at Good Samaritan Society House in Hutchinson, KS. She was born on April 11, 1923 in Oak Hill, KS, the daughter of Frank and Ressa (Bulleigh) Gray. Hazel was born and raised in the Oak Hill community. She married Etmer Begnoche on July 6, 1942. Hazel worked as a nurse's aide at the Clay County Hospital and at Presbyterian Manor. She also worked at Hutchinson-Royal manufacturing in Clay Center. Etmer preceded her in death on January 15, 2006. Hazel was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, where she was active in the Alter Society and Catholic Women's Organization. Hazel will be remembered for her musical ability. She could play the piano beautifully by ear. She was also an avid reader and was always on top of current worldwide events. She was a loving mother who sacrificed much for her two daughters and grandchildren and will be dearly missed. She was also preceded in death by her parents and 5 siblings.
Hazel is survived by her loving children, Ramona (William) Massingill, Hutchinson, KS, Marsha (Jim) Kasch, Dewitt, MI, grandchildren, Teresa (Scott) Meyer of Hutchinson, KS, Ryan (Nicole) Borth of Lansing, MI, Tyler (Kristen) Borth of Sylvania, OH, James (Shelley) Kasch of Orlando, FL, Angela (James) Murphy of Northwood, OH, 14 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.
Memorial Services will be held on Thursday, March 17, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the Phelps Funeral Home in Miltonvale, KS
Officiating the service will be The Rev. Randall Weber
Inurnment will be in the Miltonvale Cemetery, Miltonvale, KS
