Hazel Weir

HAZEL C. WEIR, 104 died July 28, 2015 at Clay County Medical Center in Clay Center, KS. She was born on June 24, 1911 in Laramie, WY, the daughter of Alex and Martha (Thompson) Crout. Hazel moved to Clifton as a young girl to live with her grandmother. She attended Clay County Community High School. Hazel met Dexter Weir in Clay Center and they were married on June 6, 1928. They spent most of their life on a farm Southeast of Clay Center. Hazel could do many jobs and worked hard all of her life. She was a generous and kind person. Many called her mom and grandma. Hazel always had a good humor. She will be missed by many. She was preceded in death by parents a daughter, Lela Larson a son, William Weir and four sisters. Survivors: Son: Max and wife Mary Weir, Clay Center, KS Son: James and wife Vera Weir, Camarillo, CA Son: Donald and wife Marge Weir, Kansas City, MO Daughter: Rosemarie Gurney, Clay Center, KS 21 Grandchildren, many Great-grandchildren and many Great-Great-grandchildren Funeral Services will be held on Friday, July 31, 2015 at 1:30 PM at the Madura Congregational Church in Wakefield, KS Officiating the service will be Rev.
