Helen Louise (Haun) Cook has gone home to meet the Lord on January, 21, 2017 at the age of 76 years, 3 months and 99 days. Helen was very active in Clay Center, Kansas where she has lived since 1982, with her husband Mearl Earl. Mearl and Helen were married on March 23 1960 in Omaha, Ne. Mearl and Helen had three children, Daniel Dean (his wife Katherine Marie Heiser) Enterprise, Ks. Penny Lea (her husband Claude Robert) Clay Center Kansas and Scott Ray (his wife Nancy), Bonner Springs, Ks. Helen leaves behind 11 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren, numerous other family and friends. Helen was born Oct 14, 1940 in Hamburg, IA to Samuel Carewell Haun and Olive Agnes (Baker) Haun. She lived in Hamburg until her family moved to the family farm located between Hamburg and Sidney. Her family later moved to town when her dad started a fuel delivery business. After graduation from high school, she and Mearl lived in Hamburg, IA. In 1981, they moved to Stockton, Ks before settling in Clay Center. While in Clay Center Helen worked at the leisure center 13 years before retiring in Jan 2006. Helen loved taking care of her cats, and worked on many crafts throughout her life, and was proud the various window scenes she created while at the leisure center. Helen also loved people.
