Helen Small

HELEN SMALL died January 12, 2012 at Presbyterian Manor, Clay Center, KS at the age of 104. She was born on January 27, 1907 in Broughton, Kansas the daughter of Franz and Lena (Hofmann) Mall. Helen was raised in the Broughton community. She married Blake Witt on October 4, 1925 and he preceded her in death on January 13, 1956. Helen worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone in Clay Center, Salina and Colby, retiring in 1972 after 40 years. She married Ernest Small on April 17, 1973 and he preceded her in death on December 22, 1986. Helen was a member of St. Paul Episcopal Church and the Telephone Pioneers of America. She is also preceded in death by a daughter, Peggy Witt, 4 sisters, 4 brothers, 1 step-daughter and a daughter in law, Margaret Witt on May,23, 1994. Survivors include: Son: Bill and wife Betty Witt, Bend, OR Step-Daughter: Lorene and husband Delmar Peterson, Clay Center, KS Step-Daughter: Audrey Pfizenmaier, Clay Center, KS Grandchildren: 3 Grandchildren 9 Step-grandchildren 3 Great-grandchildren 23 Step-great-grandchildren 14 Step-great-great-grandchildren Funeral Services will be held on Monday, January 16, 2012 at 10:30 AM at the St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Clay Center, Kansas . Officiating the service will be The Rev. Susan Sawyer. Visitation will be held on 2-5 PM Sunday at the funeral home Memorials can be made to St Paul Episcopal Church c/o the funeral home
