HESTER MAE BABE URBAN died October 21, 2007 at Clay County Medical Center, Clay Center, KS at the age of 87. HESTER MAE BABE URBAN was born on August 2, 1920 in Randall, KS the daughter of Henry and Nellie Mae (Lashley) Holsted. She was raised and attended country schools in the Morganville Community. She married George Urban on Septeber 14, 1940 in Clay Center, he survives of the home. She worked as a waitress at the Tankersley Hotel and Cedar Court Restaurant all in Clay Center. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and VFW Auxillary both of Clay Center. She is preceded in death by her parents, 1 sister,Nelda and 1 great-granddaughter, Chloe Robinson. Survivors include: Husband: George Urban, Clay Center, KS Daughter: Linda and husband Ron Walker, Ada, KS Brother: Bobby Holsted, Clay Center, KS Brother: Merle Holsted, Liberal, KS Grandchildren: 6 Grandchildren and 4 Great-grandchildren Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, October 24, 2007 at 2:00 pm at the First Baptist Church in Clay Center, Kansas. Officiating the service will be Pastor Brian High. Burial will be at the Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center, Kansas. Visitation will be held on 3-8 pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
