HULDA MILDRED MATSON died January 28, 2010 at Linn Community Nursing Home, Linn,
KS at the age of 93. She was born on October 27, 1916 in Washington County, Kansas the
daughter of George “Jacob”and Cordelia (Mercier) Leiszler. She was raised in the Strawberry
community, attending school at Strawberry and Clifton. She graduated from Agenda High School.
Following normal training, she taught in country schools near Palmer. Hulda married Leonard
Matson on June 5, 1940, he survives of the home. They farmed north of Clifton until 2004. She
was a member of St. Marys Catholic Church, Altar Society, EHU, Columbian Club, Master
Homemaker Guild and Lucky 4 4-H leader. She is preceded in death by 2 daughters, Eileen
Ransopher and Cleora Matson, 2 sisters, Lucy Esslinger and Irene Danielson and 2 brothers,
Alvin and Leonard Leiszler.

Great-Grandchildren: Cameron Parr, Delaney Parr, Katie Allen, Konnor Allen, Carter Smith
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, February 5, 2010 at 10:00 AM at the St. Mary Catholic
Church in Clifton, Kansas.
Officiating the service will be The Rev. Larry Letourneau.
Burial will be at the Rusco Cemetery, Clifton, Kansas.
Visitation will be held on 5-7 PM Thursday at Turner Funeral Home with rosary at 7PM
