IMOGENE KAMPHAUS died May 27, 2012 at Presbyterian Manor, Clay Center, KS at
the age of 94. She was born on June 21, 1917 in Clay Center Kansas, the
daughter of Fred , Sr and Lola (Kemp) Griffiths.
Imogene attended Washington #15 country school and graduated from CCCHS in 1935.
She attended Kansas State University and taught in in country grade schools for 7 years.
Imogene married Edward Kamphaus on December 28, 1941. They made their home and farmed
in the Five Creeks township west of Clay Center. Edward preceded her in death on April 4,
2001. She was a member of the Idana Presbyterian Church where she taught Sunday School, was
a session member and a member of the Presbyterian Women's Group. Imogene served on the
Clay County Fair Board, Clay County Extension Services, held offices in the local Farm Bureau,
County Liners EHU and was a member of the Retired Teachers. She enjoyed entering cookies,
needlework and flowers in the Clay County Fair and proudly displayed the many ribbons she
won. Imogene's greatest joys were her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and
keeping up on their activities. She is also preceded in death by her parents and a brother Fred
Griffiths, Jr.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, May 31, 2012 at 2:30 PM at the First Presbyterian
Church in Idana, Kansas.
Officiating the service will be Rev. James Byers.
Burial will be at the Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center, Kansas.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday 3-8 PM at the funeral home. The family will greet friends
from 7-8 PM
