Irene Chapman

IRENE CHAPMAN died February 4, 2013 at Medicalodge, Clay Center, KS at the age of 94. She was born on April 27, 1918 in Broughton, Kansas the daughter of Charles and Lyda (White) McCully. Irene was born in Broughton KS. She attended Kansas State University and taught school following high school. She married Leo Chapman on October 19, 1940. They made their home and farmed in the Broughton area before moving to Clay Center. Irene was a member of the United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Library Club, Garden Club, Broughton Friendship Club and Stitch and Chatter group. She is preceded in death by a half brother, Donald McCully Survivors include: Husband: Leo Chapman, Clay Center, KS Son: Mark and wife Cheryl Chapman, Cat Springs, TX Son: Christopher Chapman, Richland, WA Daughter: Julie and husband Dennis Rice, Winfield, KS 5 Grandchildren and 5 Great-Grandchildren Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, February 9, 2013 at 10:00 AM at the United Methodist Church in Clay Center, Kansas. Officiating the service will be Herb Mugler. Burial will be at the Broughton Cemetery, Clay County, Kansas. Visitation will be held on 3-8 PM Friday at the funeral home. The family will greet friends from 4-6:30 Memorials can be made to United Methodist Women c/o the funeral home
