Irene Lloyd

IRENE MARIE LLOYD died September 30, 2010 at Clay County Medical Center, Clay Center, KS at the age of 101. She was born on July 14, 1909 in Clay County Kansas, the daughter of Peter Forslund and Ida Hillstrom. Irene was raised in Clay County and married Claude Pettet in 1926. He preceded her in death in 1939. She married George Rouse in 1944 and he preceded her in 1972. Irene then married Iliff Lloyd on July 14, 1976 and he preceded her on February 3, 1998. She worked as a waitress in several local restaurants and as a projectionist for the Rex Theater and Skyline Drive-in Theater. Irene was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and American Legion Auxiliary. She is also preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara, 3 brothers and a sister. Survivors include: Daughter: Iris Rouse, Clay Center, KS Son: Dale Pettet, West Hills, CA Daughter: Beverly Steward, Topeka, KS Daughter: Donna Carlson, Clay Center, KS Daughter: Shirley Bristol, Portland, OR Grandchildren: Many grandchildren, Great-grandchildren and Great-great-grandchildren Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at 11:00 AM at the Greenwood Cemetery in Clay Center, Kansas. Officiating the service will be Rev. Larry Myers. Burial will be at the Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center, Kansas. Visitation will be held on 3-8 PM Monday at the funeral home Memorials can be made to Lighthouse for Christ c/o the funeral home
