J. Alice Laflin

J. ALICE LAFLIN died November 17, 2010 at Blue Valley Nursing Home, Blue Rapids, KS at the age of 92. J. ALICE LAFLIN was born on July 30, 1918 in Limon, Colorado the daughter of Frank Nye and Leah Jones. She was raised in Colorado and Clay Center, graduating from CCCHS. Alice married Roy Laflin on February 24, 1938 and he preceded her in death on October 21, 1993. She worked as a bookkeeper for the Farmer's COOP. Alice was a member of the Clay Center Presbyterian Church, was active in Sunday School and the Presbyterian Women's Organization. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Frances Rauch. Survivors include: Daughter: Doris and her husband, Harlan Turk, Waterville, KS Daughter: Jan and her husband, Verdell Koerwitz, Shiloh, GA Grandchildren: 13 Grandchildren and 24 Great Grandchildren Sister: Agness Williams, Napa, CA Sister: Frances Hamilton, Cloverdale, OR Sister: Ethel Laflin, Hutchinson, KS Sister: Wilma Johnson Funeral Services will be held on Monday, November 22, 2010 at 10:30 AM at the Presbyterian Church in Clay Center, Kansas. Officiating the service will be Rev. James Byers. Burial will be at the Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center, Kansas. Visitation will be held from 2-5 PM Sunday, November 21, 2010 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the church or to Meadowlark Hospice in care of the funeral home.
