JACK BURTON MILES died February 6, 2012 at Clare Bridge Home, Topeka, KS at the
age of 90. He was born on May 25, 1921 in Green, Kansas the son of Clifford and Addie
(Appleton) Miles.
Jack was raised in the Green community and graduated from Green High School. He
served in the 504th Ordinance company in the US Army from September 10, 1942 until October
12, 1945. Jack married Nola Fowles on August 30 1945. Following the war, Jack farmed in the
Green and Broughton areas and worked for Farm Bureau as a crop adjuster. They retired from
farming and moved to Clay Center in early 1982. He was a member of the Green VFW, the
Broughton United Methodist Church and later the Clay Center United Methodist Church. He is
preceded in death by 2 sisters, Nola Platz and Maxine Bloom and a granddaughter, Kristi Lantz.

Daughter: Diane and husband Ron Berroth, Topeka, KS
Brother: Larry and wife Donna Miles, Oklahoma City , OK
8 Grandchildren and 13 Great-Grandchildren
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, February 10, 2012 at 11:00 AM at the United Methodist
Church in Clay Center, Kansas.
Officiating the service will be Rev. Larry Myers.
Burial will be at the Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center, Kansas.
Visitation will be held on Friday 10 AM until service time at the church
