Jacob Grater

JACOB GRATER, 37 died February 6, 2016 at Clay County Medical Center in Clay Center, KS. He was born on March 2, 1978 in Clay Center, . The son of Greg and Nancy (Kopfer) Grater. Jacob grew up in Clay Center and graduated from CCCHS in 1996. He attended Butler Community College. Returning to Clay Center, he worked for Gilmore/Tatge and Cheney Construction. Jacob then traveled with Single Source Roofing, based out of Pennsylvania, where he was a foreman. After returning to Clay Center he worked for Santee Structural. He is preceded by his father, Greg Grater and his grandfathers, Merlin Kopfer, Arnold Grater, and Bill Gonser. Survivors: Daughter: Cloe' Grater, Jackson, KY Mother: Nancy and husband Dave Gonser, Clay Center, KS Brother: Courtney Grater, Clay Center, KS Brother: Bryan Gonser, Dodge City, KS Brother: Danny and wife Jenna Grater, Green, KS Brother: Gavin Grater, Green, KS Step Mother: Leanna Grater, Green, KS Grandmother: Alberta Kopfer, Clay Center, KS Grandmother: Reva Grater, Clay Center, KS Grandmother: Maggie Gonser, Clay Center, KS Nieces: Mackenzie Grater and Brooklynn Hiebert Nephew: Garrison Grater Funeral Services will be held on Friday, February 12, at 10:30am at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Clay Center, KS Officiating the service will be Pastor Paul Tessaro Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center, KS Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 11, 2016 from 3-8pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Cloe' Grater Educational Fund c/o funeral home.
