JAMES "JIM" CHARLES MARKSMAN died December 5, 2008 at Stormont-Vail Regional Medical Center, Topeka, KS at the age of 52. James was born on May 23, 1956 in L'Anse, MI the son of Samuel Charles Marksman and Mary Leonard. Grew up in Clay Center and graduated from CCCHS in 1973. Worked for Hutchinson/Mayrath, Gilmore/Tatge, Inc., Cheney Construction and the City Of Clay Center since 1985. He was a member of the Clay Center Eagles Lodge and Son's of the American Legion. He married Judy Woods on May 23, 1986 and she survives of the home. He is preceded by his father, step-son Bud Jackson and sister Janie Foster. Survivors include: Wife: Judy Marksman, Clay Center, KS Mother: Mary Marksman, Clay Center, KS Step-Son: Kevin and wife Vicki Jackson, Junction City, KS Step-Son: Troy and wife Jennifer Jackson, Manhattan, KS Step-Daughter: Joquetta and husband Terry Eirden, Texas City, TX Step-Daughter: Zelda Jackson, Galvestion, TX Sister: Barb and husband Terry Busse, Manhattan, KS Grandchildren: 19 Step Grandchildren and 18 Great Grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, December 10, 2008 at 10:30 AM at the Neill-Schwensen-Rook Chapel in Clay Center, Kansas. Officiating the service will be The Rev. Susan Sawyer. Burial will be at the Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center, Kansas. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 9 from 3-8pm at the funeral home.
