JAMES CLAYTON WHITE, 87 died October 9, 2015 at Salina Regional Health Center in Salina, KS. He was born on March 14, 1928 in Vining, KS, the son of O. Ray and Katie (Watson) White. James was raised in Vining and graduated from Clifton High School. He married Donis Grooms on August 12, 1949. James worked for Simpson Layborn Evans and Stark in Salina before enlisting in the US Army. He served as a medical corpsman from January 10, 1952 to January 9, 1954. James returned to the grain industry, working for Simpson Layborn Miller and Stark and Miller Grain Company for 30 years as a grain inspector, supervising grain storage in 6 different grain elevators. James and Donis also owned and operated the Salina KOA Campgrounds and the White Christmas tree farm. He is preceded in death by his parents.
