Janet Long

  JANET KAY LONG, 67 died April 6, 2015 at Medicalodge in Clay Center, KS. She was born on May 30, 1947 in Clay Center, KS. The daughter of Norman and Ernestine (Rundle) Sump.   Janet grew up in the Green Community and graduated from CCCHS in 1965. She attended Brown Mackie College. She worked for the Kansas Insurance Department for 10yrs. She then married Philip Long on December 26, 1976 and they lived in California before moving to Clay Center in 1985. She worked at the Clay Center Presbyterian Manor as a cook for 5yrs, and sold Avon for several years. She was a member of the Clay Center United Methodist Church and enjoyed painting and pottery. She is preceded by her parents. Survivors: Husband: Philip Long, Clay Center, KS Son: Ted Long, Solomon, KS Son: Danny Long, Manhattan, KS Son: Kyle and wife Emilee Long, St. Marys, GA Brother: Nedwin Sump, Green, KS Brother: Rollin Sump, Industry, KS Sister: Norma Dupus, Hoyt, KS Sister: Carol Wichman, Green, KS Funeral Services will be held on Friday, April 10 at 10:30am at the Clay Center United Methodist Church. Officiating the service will be Pastor Ryan Lynch Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center, KS Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 9 from 3-8pm with family greeting friends from 4:30-6pm at the funeral home.
