Janice Straub

JANICE STRAUB died June 5, 2012 at Clay County Medical Center, Clay Center, KS at the age of 56. She was born on February 13, 1956 in Clay Center Kansas, the daughter of Richard and Delorse (McCollum) Kahrs. Janice was raised in Clay Center and graduated from CCCHS in 1974. She worked one year for the Clay Center Street Department before transferring to the Waste Water Treatment Plant, retiring in 2009 as Asst. Superintendent. Janice married Al Straub on April 28, 1990, he survives of the home. She is preceded in death by her father. Janice enjoyed flowers, quilting, crocheting, playing cards and pool and a good cup of coffee. Survivors include: Husband: Al Straub, Clay Center, KS Daughter: Sarah Straub, Clay Center, KS Step-Son: Darin Straub, Canfield, OH Step-Daughter: Heather Straub, Clay Center, KS Brother: Rick and wife Joan Kahrs, Morganville, KS Brother: Ron and wife Sue Kahrs, Wasilla, Alaska Sister: Susan Schmitt, Emporia, KS Sister: Donice James, Clay Center, KS Sister: Karen Kahrs-Rodvelt, Mayetta, KS Sister: Pam Kahrs, Clay Center, KS Grandchildren: 8 Step-grandchildren 2 Step-greatgrandchildren Mother: Delorse Kahrs, Clay Center, KS Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, June 9, 2012 at 2:00 PM at the Swedesburg First Lutheran Church in Clay County, Kansas. Officiating the service will be Pastor Tom Sahl and Pastor Rob Stewart. Burial will be at the Swedesburg First Lutheran Cemetery, Clay County, Kansas. Visitation will be held on 3-8 PM Friday at the funeral home Memorials can be made to Meadowlark Hospice c/o the funeral home
