Jean Francis

JEAN FRANCIS died January 31, 2013 at Presbyterian Manor, Clay Center, KS at the age of 86. Jean was born on November 25, 1926 in Manchester England, the daughter of Arthur Sharwin and Nellie Povey. Jean was born and raised in Manchester England. She Married Maurice Francis on January 3, 1945. They moved to the United State in 1946, making their home in Aurora, KS. Later they moved to Clay Center. She worked for Hastings and Yellow Brick. Maurice preceded her in death on September 7, 1983. She is also preceded in death by a son, Stephen Paul Francis, a brother Roy and a sister, Lillend Woods. Survivors include: Son: Phil Francis and Bobbi Holz, Clay Center, KS Son: Perry and wife Delores Francis, Corona, CA Son: Matthew and wife Melanie Francis, Corinth, TX 2 Grandchildren and 6 Great-grandchildren Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at 10:30 AM at the Neill-Schwensen-Rook Chapel in Clay Center, Kansas. Officiating the service will be The Rev Susan Sawyer. Burial will be at the Pleasant View Cemetery, Vining, Kansas. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 9:00 AM until service time at the funeral home. Memorials can be made to Meadowlark Hospice c/o the funeral home.
