JEAN MARNELL died October 10, 2011 at Medicalodge, Clay Center, KS at the age of
79. Jean was born on June 16, 1932 in Goodland, KS the daughter of Ervin and Mary Alice
(Ridge) Walters.
Jean graduated from Norwich High School in 1950. She worked for First National Bank
in Hutchinson and she married Joe Marnell on October 13, 1962. They lived in Hutchinson and
Chanute before moving to Ingalls in 1976. Jean worked for the Gray County Treasurer's office
for many years before retiring. They moved to Clay Center in 2005. Jean was preceded in death
by two sisters, Deloris Konetchy and LaVeta Garrison.

Son: Kyle and his wife, Carol Marnell, Pomona, KS
4 Grandchildren, Anne Sisley, Nathan Dawson, and Bree and Asia Marnell
Sister: Louise Ward, Norwich, KS
Sister: Harriet Walters, Kingman, KS
Sister: Carol Walters, Kingman, KS
Brother: David Walters, Gypsum, KS
Brother: Raymond Walters, Pensacola, FL
A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2011 at 10:30 AM at the SS. Peter and
Paul Catholic Church in Clay Center, Kansas.
Officiating the service will be Fr. Larry Grennan.
Private family inurment will be held at the Hunt Cemetery, Kingman, KS.
There will be no visitation.
Memorials may be made to Meadowlark Hospice and sent in care of the funeral home.
