Jerry Wayne Davies

Jerry Wayne Davies died May 16, 2009 at Clay County Medical Center, Clay Center, KS at the age of 58. Jerry was born on October 20, 1950 in Clay Center, Kansas the son of Clinton and Marvis (Hess) Davies. Jerry married Mavis Green on June 12, 1968. He worked for the City of Clay Center from 1985 until he retired in 2008 as Superintendant of the Water Treatment Plant. He earned many awards from the KDHE and EPA, in 1993 he received the William D. Hatfield Award. He was a member of the Clay Center Christian Church and the Kansas Water and Environmental Assn. He is preceded in death by his mother. Survivors include: Wife: Mavis Davies, Clay Center, KS Daughter: Melinda and husband Bill Ham, Clay Center Son: Jerry Davies, Jr., Wichita, KS Son: Daniel Davies, Topeka, KS Son: Steven and wife Jenifer Davies, Clay Center, KS Daughter: Stephanie and husband Alex Schnell, Clay Center, KS Daughter: Catherine and husband Andrew Browning, Clay Center, KS Father: Clinton Davies, Clay Center, KS Brother: Clinton Davies, Jr., Clay Center, Kansas Brother: Gary Davies, Clay Center, KS 14 Grandchildren Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, May 19, 2009 at 10:00 AM at the First Presbyterian Church in Clay Center, Kansas . Officiating the service will be Pastor Doug Wallace. Burial will be at the Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center, Kansas. Visitation will be held on 3-8 PM Monday at the funeral home. Memorials can be made to Jerry Davies Memorial Fund to be designated later in care of the funeral home.
