JESSIE BIGLER, 98 died June 29, 2014 at Medicalodge in Clay Center, KS. She was born on January 17, 1916 in Cloud County, KS. The daughter of Daniel and Ella (Reeves) Empson.
Jessie was raised in the Concordia community. She married Russell Bigler on June 11, 1937. They made their home in California before moving to Clay Center. Russell preceded her in death on September 29, 1989. Jessie leaves lasting fingerprints on the lives of her family and friends. Jessie had an infectious personality and knew how to light up a room with her smile, laughter, and a good story. She was always devoted to her family. A lover of a challenge, she enjoyed mastering puzzles, taking long walks, and earlier in life enjoyed golf and bowling. She was a master seamstress, loved to garden and loved hosting Sunday dinners for her big family. She will also be remembered for healthy living, high heels and shopping.
Jessie always put others first, and never demanded anything in return.
Mom, Grandma, Sarge, Jess, Friend, Sister, Aunt. Jessie relished time spent with those she loved. She loved a long good-bye. "You don't have to rush off..." She will be missed dearly and loved eternally.
Jessie was a member of United Methodist Church, Order of Eastern Star and Duzit E.D.U. She is preceded in death by parents, 5 brothers and 3 sisters
