JAMES L. “JIM” CARVER, 79 died June 22, 2015 at Clay County Medical Center in Clay Center, KS. He was born on February 23, 1936 in Oak Hill, KS, the son of Irvin and Hazel (Affolter) Carver. Jim was raised in the Longford community. He served in the Air Force from 1956-1960. Jim married Darylene Gunter and they later divorced. He then married Janice "Jan" Elsasser on September 24, 1966. James worked for Hutchinson/Royal for several years and Kidwell Oil. James owned and operated Carver's Service and Countryside Market from 1964 to 2012. He was a member of the Evangelical Covenant Church and the American Legion. He is preceded in death by his parents and one sister.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, June 26, 2015 at 10:30 AM at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Clay Center, KS
Officiating the service will be Pastor Grant Clay
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 25, 2015 from 3pm-8pm at Neill-Schwensen-Rook Funeral Home
Graveside services will be held at 11:30 AM on Saturday, August 15, 2015 in Greenwood Cemetery
