John Alton

JOHN WILLIAM ALTON, 44 died August 2, 2015 at Clay County Medical Center in Clay Center, KS. He was born on March 14, 1971 in Fort Devens, MA. The son of John Alton and Jean Pipitone. John graduated from Hemet High School in 1990. He served in the US Army as a Combat Engineer for the 2nd Engineer Battalion since 1990. John has served two tours in Iraq and three tours in Afghanistan. He was currently with Operations Company, Division Headquarters and Headquarters Battalion 1st Infantry Division at Fort Riley. John married Carrie Sweet on January 22, 2005. He is preceded in death by his mother, maternal grandparents and paternal grandfather Survivors: Wife: Carrie Alton, Clay Center, KS Son: J.T. Alton, Clay Center, KS Step-Son: Gavin Pastine, Clay Center, KS Father: John William Alton, Hemet, CA Sister: Jane and husband Bill Buckley, Vista CA Sister: Madeline Alton, Winchester, CA Grandmother: Julia Alton, Hemet, CA Nieces: Sarah Buckley and Emily Sweet Nephews: Kyle Alton and Aiden Sweet Father and Mother in law: Roy and Kathy Sweet, Clay Center, KS Brother and sister in law: Jeremy and wife Karla Sweet, Clay Center, KS Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, August 13, 2015 at 10:30 AM at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Clay Center, KS Officiating the service will be Pastor Paul Tessaro Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center, KS Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 12, 2015 from 3-8 PM at Neill-Schwensen-Rook Funeral Home Memorials: John W.
